where i shop!

i've had a lot of people on instagram ask me where i shop and any tips so i thought it would be great to just spill the beanz here so i don't need to repeat myself and everyone can see!

let me start off by saying some links are affiliated and my opinions are 100% honest cos lol why would you lie ??? also please do keep in mind that buying online can be a risky business (items not being as described, bad customer service etc) so be cautious and check sellers/brands thoroughly to make sure its worth making the purchase!

but also! if something is not satisfactory, do persist and ensure you get your refund! especially if it doesn't match with the listing's details/photos as described.

however i can say that by being cautious i have had few bad experiences !

alrighty, so, the main two online websites i shop from are yesstyle and aliexpress! i'll begin with~!

yesstyle is an online retailer distributing a variety of items to buy from Asia! from apparel, cosmetics to homeware~

tbh it is quite overwhelming at first when you visit the website like um where do i start?? what should i look at first? well apart from the discounts/sales shown on the front page, i start off having a quick look at the best sellers page and flash sale page! get a feel on whats to offer :')

so the brands i always check out are chuu and icecream12 (they are sister brands!), their clothes are soso cute! they have a lot of pastels and pretty designs~ definitely worth checking out ~ here are some of my fav products!

TIPS:

1. it's best to wait for a good discount because they always do them every month! also wait until you have a list of items you want so you can purchase with the discount + coupon (they usually give out coupons according to your elite club status or with the discount/sale event)

2. there are multiple listings for the same item so always check them all out to find the best one/worthwhile to buy! (like best shop rating, highest review rating, best price)

3. always review your items to earn style points once you meet a certain requirement your elite club upgrades and you can get % off all items! (ATM i'm a gold member so i get 10% off all items hehe)

4. everyday they give out 100 free gifts so follow their instagram for the gift code or download their app (no code needed) to get a free gift! (good luck tho lol)

pros:

• tag system to find similar items

• elite club benefits

• product reviews

• products can be returned to yesstyle's warehouse located in your country rather than back to their Hong Kong warehouse (but i think this is only for US customers)

• provides tracking!

cons:

• have to meet the requirement to get free shipping (well for me it's a con lol the total price has increased through the years !!)

• text-only reviews (i find this really disappointing because everyone's expectations are different?? some people want it to look like the product whilst others care about the quality too)

so next one up is...

aliexpress is very much like ebay for those who aren't familiar! again a variety of items to buy from and sold by different sellers.

i have a lot of sellers favourited so i listed most of them! some i have bought from myself (marked as *)!!

i listed the stores into 3 different categories but that's based on the store's item majority! some will across into other categories.

TIPS:

1. read their new user guide to be more familiar how aliexpress operates~

2. i usually order from stores that have at least 96% store rating! however i think high product rating (on the item i want) takes higher priority!

3. it's usually cheaper to order through the app! discounts from around 1-80% off it varies from product and seller but worth saving that extra few $$$

4. to find similar items i usually copy and paste key words in the product listing to find similar items!

5. on the mobile app you can image search and it shows similar items to the photo you provided

6. once you have made a purchase be sure to check your order as there is a "buyer protection" lasting for around 30 days where you are guaranteed to get a full refund (if the product doesn't arrive) or full/partial refund if it isn't described! so if your product hasn't arrived yet and the buyer protection is expiring make sure to expand it or ask for a refund!

7. always review your items to earn points, when you meet a certain points requirement your membership upgrades and you get privileges!

pros:

• free shipping on most items

• detailed review system (can provide photos on reviews for items and rating on the accuracy of the store's product description, shipping, seller communication)

• provides tracking!

• option to view 'similar items'

cons:

• expensive returns!!!!!! (pretty much all the sellers are based in China which is expensive to ship to!)

• no tagging system to find similar items

another online site i shop are is ...!

i buy some basics from here (sweatshirts/t-shirts) and also look for second-hand items ! i've found some cute sport jackets (as pictured below) and american apparel clothes in such great condition from there~

mock-neck with heart detail sweater // this sweater is honestly so great for layering in the winter!!

high teen v-neck sweater // first dark top worn in ages lol i love it a lot! especially when layered with a turtle neck underneath

other stores i shop from are h&m and topshop! i always check the website and instore because occasionally i find items i really like! h&m does sales quite often so i learnt that i shouldn't be so hasty on buying it so soon lol, but wait and get it much cheaper! although it can be risky cause it can become out of stock before going on sale.

but i do check out other stores like select, new look, etc like the less popular ones cause you never know you might find something you like! but yeah honestly it's always worth taking a quick look around any store!!

i also thrift! i like to look through thrift/vintage stores as well as charity stores! even if i don't find anything for myself i might find something else for a friend or family member *peace sign*
